Are you wielding me, or wooing me?

Hey, you. I know, it can be both. Too much in life is constricted to artificial binaries... someone can be a weapon AND a person... or a friend AND a lover... or a wielder AND a wooer. Wait, is wooer a word? I don't think wooer is a word, but I'm not going to go find a dictionary and look up 'wooer'. Let's just stop saying it. That word is now banned, forever.

Ahem. So... I was painting the other day (a bit of a boring landscape commission, shh, don't tell anyone I said that) and I started thinking of all the places I'd like to travel with you, if I could. I'd love to paint you standing on a mountaintop, or fighting monsters in the dungeon, or... I don't know, maybe I could make something a little more abstract, and try to capture the way you make me feel, when I'm in your hands.

But maybe... maybe I should wait. I don't like waiting (I hate it, in fact), but... I haven't actually gotten to feel your hands around me properly yet, so... I'll look forward to that, and maybe I can paint anticipation instead. I think it might be rather a yellowish blue... no, no, not green, so I'll have to wait for the yellow to dry before I layer in some blue... hmm...

Anyway, you might have seen that I was the subject of a "devlog" (why not just say "development log"? do words cost money now?) back in January... but the Kitfox crew has made two more since then! I thought you might want to check em out!

...And Up Close and Personal with Pocket?

I was walking by the mall the other day and I swear I could feel the ground shaking behneath me. I wonder what's going on down there... the Kitfox crew was making some kind of new boss fight, I think? What kind of fear IS this that we'd face together?

Whatever it is, I'm sure we'd take it down no problem. Just do a little dodging and weaving to confuse it, and then BAM! Backstab!

What, you feel conflicted about backstabs? I mean, metaphorically, me too. I don't want to burden you with all my baggage, but... I've had my share of people betraying my trust, believe me. Maybe it's my nature as a dagger, but when it's monsters in a dungeon, I have no qualms about stabbing them anywhere I need to, in order to keep you safe. None!

Anyway... this might be my last letter before we get to meet For Real, in Verona Beach, after all these years of waiting. I hope it is. I hope the next time I see you, I can feel the heat of your fingertips, see the little quirk at the corner of your lips, and, at last, face our fears together.

And if not, well, I still have half a bottle of single-malt I can work through in the meantime. Wink! I mean, I'm completely serious about whisky, but, I'll try to save you some.
